In 2004, after spending more than 20 years at fine establishments such as the Van Dyke Place Restaurant, the Whitney Restaurant, and Mac & Ray’s, Chef Jeff Baldwin opened up his own restaurant and catering company, J.Baldwin’s, featuring his award winning stone fired pizza.
His goal was to be able to recreate a gourmet dining experience that fits with today’s busy lifestyles. The way we see it, you should be able to enjoy the taste of gourmet – at your convenience, not just on special occasions when time permits. J.Baldwin’s Restaurant is the result of that dream.
Now over 2 decades later, that dream continues. The restaurant is busier than ever, and the catering division has grown by leaps and bounds! We are able to cater any event…from small intimate dinner parties, to weddings of 200 people or more. And in 2016, the Baldwin Restaurant Group was formed, announcing the expansion with a new restaurant, Testa Barra Kitchen & Cocktails, featuring modern Italian fare. Testa Barra opened its doors in June, 2017 to great review!
We LOVE J.Baldwin’s but last night, my husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary. They promptly seated us and as we approached the table, there was a sign on the table that said Happy Anniversary! We were approached by Kristy who was the friendliest and nicest waitress I have probably ever had! She took our drink order and came back with a flower and a candle. From the drinks all the way to dessert, the service and food was impeccable. We will forever love J.Baldwin’s and thank you guys for all you do!
J Baldwin’s provides consistency in amazing service and phenomenal tasting food. I highly recommend you check this restaurant out if you haven’t already. Food is fresh and vibrant, I haven’t had a bad plate yet!
Hands down my favorite place for...a birthday dinner, a night out with friends or just because. Lamb chops, calamari, Boom Boom shrimp tacos, chicken bella...I’ve enjoyed everything I ever eaten. Oh and the craft cocktails are amazing too!
Highly highly recommend J Baldwin’s! The food and drinks are always outstanding. There was live music and a great vibe. Our waiter John was FANTASTIC and even brought over a rose for our “mom and dad’s night out”. Anytime we are there the service is always excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
